My overall theme for my wedding was elegant vintage glam. I wanted something different so I started with my colors. I always wanted my girls to wear black. My husband wanted his guys in grey. I brought color in with my flowers and accents being yellow. My fabulous florist and I then went into the decor which brought in glam with the rhinestones. I added vintage touches with my lace dress and favors. Everything turned out just as I planned!

Being from a small area we only have very few reception halls to choose from. My husband and I both have big families and lots of friends so we needed a space big enough to accommodate the crowd size. Our only option in keeping the wedding festivities close to home was our local dance hall, Pat’s Atchafalaya Club, in Henderson. Now if any of you been there for dances on the weekends you know the swamp moral on the wall does not make for great pictures. My mission was to make everyone forget that they were in the dance hall that most go to weekly. It was absolutely amazing watching the building being transformed into a beautiful reception. I worked with Event Rentals in Lafayette as well as Joel Theriot Designs in Breaux Bridge to cover every inch of the building in white spandex. We brought in round tables mixed with banquets to make a picturesque view as you walked through the doors. Everything was covered in white from the walls to the tables and chairs. Joel from Joel Theriot Designs designed willow trees that lifted your eye, silver and covered in rhinestones, iridescent hanging beads and paved assorted yellow flowers at the base of each round table filled the height of the room with beautiful elegance. The main focus was Keree and my cakes. My personally designed 5 tier black cake with white embellishments created by Sweet Southern Ladies shinned as the centerpiece of the event spot lighted on the main stage. Keree’s crown and patron bottle cakes, also created by Sweet Southern Ladies, stole the show and were absolutely more than we imagined them to be! My final personalized touch was my floor decal. Printable Gear in Breaux Bridge assisted me in making this dream come true. Being that the space was so big I could not order one large enough to make a statement off the internet. Dale, Edna, Danielle, Michelle and Cody at Printable Gear allowed me to let my imagination run wild and created a personalized 6 x 4 foot floor decal that was extravagant. Every inch of the building was covered in breath taking elegance and even though it was my vision, seeing it all come together in the end it was more than I could have ever dreamed.

What was the most special moment during your wedding that you will never forget?

My special moment was the first look with my husband and I. It was great that I didn’t feel rushed and we got to talk and see one another before the event. It calmed both of our nerves and allowed us to have special time with one another and our baby girl before the main event began. It also allowed us to take all formal pictures before and not have our guests waiting on us at the reception!

Advice to future brides:

Enjoy every moment and remember to have fun! The best thing I believe I did was stay on the dance floor all night! My parents spoke to me before about having fun and letting them speak to the guest, that was a gift in itself. I knew that if someone really wanted to speak to me my parents would point them in the right direction to find me
