I know i promised to be a better blogger this year, and i’ve been taking steps to make that happen. I’m happy to announce the birth of my brand new blog! This one has just been so clogged up and so slow that it has been torture to attempt to post anything on it. So i...

Remember Lauren? Well this time it was Leslie’s turn! Leslie, Lauren and their mom Stacey came to see me last week to shoot Leslie’s Senior portraits! Leslie was such a great model, I can’t believe she managed to squeeze all her outfits in time for the shoot to finish! Check out a few of her shots...

I can’t believe I’m already doing the “year end” post already! Where did this year go? It flew by faster than any year before it!!
I have to say this has been the BEST YEAR EVER! Starting in January with the birth of my daughter Eve, and after 2 months of maternity leave, I came back...

Hi Dawn, I’ve been reading your blog since before Eve was born and say NO! Don’t dump the blog! Sorry if I haven’t commented much (or ever… I can’t remember specifically if I have before). I love your style. With your logo on the images it looks like a magazine cover – so awesome! As for Facebook vs. Blogs, I vote Blogs for displaying photography. I think it is a better format for it. If it seems there is more action on Facebook, maybe it’s because that’s where you are devoting your energies (you did say it’s easier to post there!) I think that you could do “sneak peaks” on Facebook by posting one image from a session and say “To see more, visit my blog” with a link. Personally, if I visit someone’s website and they don’t have a blog, I am truly disappointed in their efforts of being a succesful photographer. You NEED a blog to show off your most recent work, and to prove how often you do what types of sessions. With a website, you know, I have no idea how many weddings So-and-so does a year, but if they’ve got a blog, then I can see if they’ve got a new one posted every week or only once a quarter. I think that is important for your clients to see. The frequency & consistency of your work, while still providing variety & personalization of their session. DO NOT DUMP THE BLOG!!!
Jessica, thank you for the thoughtful response. I do spend alot more time on facebook now, but i couldn’t help myself, the moment I stared using it, i saw a huge response that I didn’t expect and felt the need to keep it going. As a result, I continued spending more time there, and less here. I thought about doing the sneak peek thing there, and blog here, but clients with facebook want to tag their photos so i feel the need to post them all on facebook too. I agree it’s good to have a blog to show recent work, but instead of posting my weddings every week like I should, I go weeks without posting and then catch up with a bunch of posts all in one sitting….. not the best way to do it! I admit, I’ve been blogging for so long now, it’s hard to imagine not doing it, even if I’m having a hard time keeping up with it!
I’m dying to see more of the bridals!!

A few weeks back I did a family shoot for the Cunningham’s. I’ve shot these girls many times before but this was the first time I met Claire, their newest addition! I can’t post any of the full family shots just yet, but look for them later on the NEW website once it’s finished!!

What a gorgeous family!! And hello, I would like those giraffe print ugg booties the youngest is wearing. How cute are those?!
Those girls are precious!

I’ve been shooting Summer’s portraits every summer, except last year when I was pregnant and completely sick. We did her golden year at 13 and now she’s 15! It’s amazing what a difference just a couple of years make when your that young.
Here she was at 13, a sweet little personality with a big smile:

Wow! Pretty at 13, stunning at 15! Beautiful photos of a beautiful young lady.

Ashley was kind enough to share her pinup and boudoir pics for all those who may be interested in a session like this, but don’t get to see too many samples, since most sessions are kept private.
(Her hubby will be getting a very “special” christmas present this year!)

Oh Dawn, I had so much fun this day! I was exhausted by the time it was over with though. Giving “good face” is a lot tougher than I thought. I will post a comment after I give the pictures to my hubby to let everyone know how he reacted, but I think we all know how he will react! Thanks again, Ashley
You may want to have the video camera ready when he opens it!
and your hair and make up are the perfect look for this “marriage” of talents!!!!! Ashley is the perfect pin up! and Dawn, you captured her inner “kitten”/Great Work!
Dawn, He flipped out! At first he didn’t realize it was me (haha) so he wasn’t sure how he was supposed to react, but after the third picture he recognized me and the smile on his face was priceless! He just kept asking,”When? Who? How? Where?” It was awesome! Thank you so much for everything. I have been plugging you and your website every chance I get. You are so talented and I hope more women choose to do this kind of shoot. Good luck with the baby. Thanks again, Ashley
